Be at this point , not later than 6.00am, as prosession need to leave at 6.00am to cover another 28km to the Jonaskop gate (no cell phone reception at this point - don’t miss the boat! )

In the likely event of some dozzers missing the departure, continue on the R43 for another 6km, turn left at the first possible turn-off to Doornrivier; this road will take you past Brandvlei Winery. After “8″km it becomes dirt road for about another “8″km. At the point where it becomes tar again, you should have taken the turn-off to the left (dirt road) towards the mountain for another 6km to the “Gate” (heaven or hell)

First climber to leave at 7.00am and last at about 8.00am as per handicap. Everyone summits at 9.00 am. Back down at “Gate” at 9.30am and back at Osdrift at 10.00pm for Breakfast and the Awards Ceremony.

A undidentified source reported that while training at high altitude with Dan and friends , the race directors determination and aggression exceeded his skill level and he came tumbling down. Of course he says he was light headed from the altitude and it has nothing to do with skill .

Unfortunately a operation is required on thursaday afternoon and well wishes to you stefan , except for the ever sympathetic SCALPEL whos comments were , and i quote ” well thats one director taken care of and only one left to sort out ”

In typical and true HUGO fashion he vows to be at the event and say he will be back . Get well soon .

2.    Participants will be allowed to forward factors and sob stories that should be taken into consideration to the committee, to assist in the calculation of their handicap. If any participant should carry a heavier handicap, feel free to submit evidence and notify the Committee without delay.

3.    Any correspondence will be for everyone’s attention, in an effort to limit bribery and under the table advances. The committee will do all it can to keep this event clean.

4.    Times last year varied between 1:08 and 2:00

5.    Please respond on this invitation by Monday 10th November . The committee will then forward a list of 2007 participants with the times achieved by them. This is when the tedious task starts, where the committee carefully calculate a handicap for every entrée.( possibly benefiting the director and pantani)

It affords the race director, Stefan Hugo and Pantani (indecently last years inaugural winner and runner up) the greatest pleasure to extend this invitation to you to Participate in the 2nd climbing of the Jonaskop TT.

Jonaskop TT is a MTB time trail event with each climber given a formal handicap determined by the race director. (Benefiting himself of course)

It gives the Race Director and Pantani great pleasure to announce that Howie vroujagter Viljoen has already commited himself fully to your request below . Vroujagter informed the director that his response was late as he was busy selecting 150 of the best ladies to line the route . The only delay in announcing the ladies names is due to the slow progress of his partner ‘Neels RSM du Plessis ‘’ are apparently hand picking the ladies , in a manner I would rather not describe .

So in short your request has been note and will not be penalised for it as it is considered an unshelfish suggestion .
